Bring adorable children in Romania heaps of happiness!

We have been sending volunteers to work with children in Romania since 1999 and are always delighted to hear about the wonderful time they are having. Gemma Horne, a current Oyster childcare volunteer, is spending 5 weeks in family homes and children’s hospitals. She recently posted on Facebook about her amazing experience so far:

“Wow what a great day! I have met some of the most incredible children ever! And learnt a teeny tiny bit of Romanian too. So glad I’m here”

From orphans to poorly kids in hospital, there is something special about the children of Romania. They show such a strong resilience to their tough lives. Volunteers are desperately needed to give these children love, attention and hope for the future… and are rewarded by their beaming smiles of gratitude. Our volunteers can get valuable medical experience working in children’s hospitals, helping children they have become so fond of to improve in health. Other work involves teaching in Kindergarten or Primary schools or simply playing, feeding and cuddling the little ones, giving them much needed social interaction and stimulation.

All this takes place in the charming Medieval city of Brasov, with its amazing scenery, fab nightlife, skiing opportunities and great architecture.

Interested? Why wait? Just like Gemma, you too could be making a difference as a childcare volunteer!
