Hi oyster,
I was wondering if doing a paid work program in Australia or Canada would be suitable for a graduating high school senior? I am considering the idea of a gap year before I attend college.

It certainly would be suitable. Many of the people that do the work programmes in Australia and Canada are going in-between their studies. You just have to be over the age of 18 to get the working holiday visa for both countries!
