Winter is coming in Canada!

It’s that time of year again! Skiers and snowboarders heading to Canada this season have only got a few days left to wait. At Oyster, we like to follow the news in our partner ski resorts. Take a look at the pictures, note their opening dates and begin to get excited about the winter- we definitely are! We are sending 50 skiers and snowboarders to Canada this year and this is what they have to look forward to…

Jasper- Marmot Basin

Is there a more magical place on the planet? Jasper opens for the winter season on the 13th November and our Jasper participants will be out there soon gaining their Level 1 and 2 CSIA/CASI qualifications to become ski and snowboard instructors.

With El Nino due to have an impact on conditions this season, Marmot Basin is one of the best places you can be. Marmot has the highest base elevation in Western Canada so if it’s a bit damp elsewhere, you can be sure of snow here.

Planning ahead for 2016

First thing to note is that it isn’t too late to be out there. We still have places on our Jasper ski and snowboard instructor courses. Can’t go this year? Oyster are taking applications for Winter 2016 so it could be you out there next year! To check out our ski season programmes, take a look at our website. If you are interested, fill in a booking form and Jon, our Canadian destination manager, will call you to chat about your application. Book early, secure your place and be the envy of everyone this time next year!
