Summary

Volunteer teaching project supporting inclusive education and language learning in Rome, Italy. Work with local after-school centres and community organisations to help children, adults, and elderly learners improve their English skills, build confidence, and connect across cultures. Assist with lesson planning, creative activities, and informal teaching sessions that support educational equity and social inclusion.

Rome, Italy — a city rich in history and diversity, with vibrant neighbourhoods, cultural landmarks, and community-focused organisations working beyond the tourist trail.

2–12 weeks (flexible durations available)


Group/individual basis

You will travel independently and join a group of international volunteers at the project.


Support

Full pre-departure support from our team, plus in-country guidance and assistance from experienced coordinators in Rome.


Includes

Accommodation

Shared hostel-style accommodation in central Rome, close to public transport and historic sites. Private rooms may be available upon request. Meal vouchers are provided for breakfast and dinner.


Travel arrangements

Fly into Rome Fiumicino (FCO) or Ciampino (CIA) airport, or arrive by train. You will be collected on arrival and taken to your accommodation. Return transfers are not included.


Pre-departure briefing

You’ll receive a full information pack about your project, logistics, and life in Rome at least four weeks before departure.


Medical

Vaccinations are not typically required for Italy. Please consult a medical professional regarding any personal health needs. Inform us of any pre-existing physical or mental health conditions prior to booking.


Insurance

You must obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering health care, accidents, cancellation, lost items, and emergencies.


Any risk factors

Rome is a safe destination, but petty theft such as pickpocketing can occur in busy areas. Stay alert and follow local advice provided by staff.


Downtime

You’ll have free afternoons, evenings, and weekends to explore Rome or relax. Please keep staff informed of your plans for safety.
